New National 18 at RYA Dinghy Show

New  National 18 at RYA Dinghy Show     The new National 18 ‘Ultra’, designed by Phil Morrison designed and built by White Formula made her first public appearance at the RYA Dinghy Show at Alexandra Palace on 28th February & 1st March.  The first production boat, number 401, was at the show (40kg lighter than the ‘Ultimates’ we presently have at Tamesis).  Owned by Jeremy Vines and Ollie Houseman and resplendent in her blue topside livery, she was formally named Hurricane by Phil Morrison and Rob White at 2.30 p.m. on the Saturday … to much hullaballoo around the

EASTER EVENTS AND REGATTA

TAMESIS+at+EASTER+poster EASTER REGATTA 2015 Sunday 5th April In response to falling numbers for the traditional Easter Sunday racing in previous years we have changed the format to have racing on Monday, which we hope will be a more convenient day for everyone. A full lunch service will be laid on for Monday. In response to popular demand the clubhouse will also open on Sunday with at least ploughmans lunch available and a patrol boat will be on hand to back up informal sailing and lay practice marks if needed. Richard Mourant – in Memoriam

Death of Richard Mourant. Richard Mourant, Tamesis Merlin Class Captain, passed away on Tuesday 10 March after a determined fight against cancer. His death occurred only 10 days after his marriage to Naekyoung Kwak after which friends and family joined them for a reception in the Tamesis Clubhouse. He died in Princess Alice Hospice. Richard was an enthusiastic merlin sailor and owned several boats during his membership of the club.  Richard was Sailing Secretary in 2007, crewed for members of the Offshore Group, and was a keen supporter of all the Club’s social activities”.
