Rob and Helen Wilder 7th at Bosham Classic Boat Revival

Rob and Helen Wilder took part in the annual Bosham Sailing Club Classic Boat Revival on 2 and 3 September. Held for classic racing dinghies and now into its 7th year, it had 59 entries split into three fleets, slow fleet, medium fleet and Fast fleet. Helen and Rob took their Merlin 1097 Flinkidink and were in the fast fleet along with other boats such as National 18s, Osprey, Finn, 12sqm Sharpie, Jolly Boat, National 12, International Canoe and Albacore. Hampton SC Merlin Open

Just finished a great weekend Merlin sailing at Hampton SC. Yesterday was the last of the De May series events for vintage boats. It was a decent breeze with a beat upstream and run downstream. I was crewed by Alex Warren from Shoreham SC and we managed to win all three races, so won the open and also won the De May Series for vintage Merlins. Rob and Helen Wilder win Thames Challenge Cup in Flinkidink

Rob and Helen Wilder won the Thames Challenge Cup at Thames SC’s open meeting for Vintage Merlins on Saturday 14 June. Sailing Flinkidink (1097) they got the best of an upstream running start and won the first and third races in a 12-strong fleet. Crewed by his daughter Milly on Father’s Day, Sunday 15 June, Rob was second overall finishing second and third in the first two races, which were sailed back to back in a decent breeze, and sat out the last race.
