Kenneth Hampton, Firefly Class Captain in the early 1960s, passed away on Thursday 11 August. He was 90.
He led the Tamesis fleet in the heydays of team racing in Fireflies and the Hampton Trophy was awarded by the class to recognise his extensive work for the club.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Ann, who had her own Firefly, and raced with the class over several years. They moved to Itchenor in the 1970s where they raced an X-boat.
His funeral will take place at Guildford Crematorium on Wednesday 31 August at 3pm. Family flowers only but donations can be made to Dementia Support.
