Our next supper and talk will be on Thursday 4 January 2018 and we are delighted that Mike and Jennifer Adams will tell us of their trips on the Canals and Riverways in France, Germany, Holland and Belgium.
Since 2011, Mike and Jennifer Adams have based their 50-year-old Nelson motor boat on the French canals and rivers. January’s talk will be about their summer 2016 journey, in which they started out from the River Yonne in Burgundy, down the Seine to Paris, then up the Marne and through various canals to the River Sarre. From there they continued into Germany, travelling down the Moselle and Rhine, then back across the Netherlands via Arnhem and Breda. Finally, they crossed Belgium via Antwerp, Ghent and Bruges before returning to northern France. Most of the rivers and canals they used carry heavy commercial traffic, but provided plenty of picturesque scenery and interesting places to visit ashore.
We will meet at 7.30 for supper at 8pm. £10 per person for a two course meal. Steak Pie, new potatoes and veg followed by apple crumble and ice cream. Please sign up in the Clubhouse or email Nicky on firstname.lastname@example.org
