Thursday 18th saw a great turnout of 18 boats for the evening sail, including 5 N18’s, 8 Lasers and even 2 Fireflies as well as an Albacore and a couple of Merlins.
An easterly (well some of the time) wind held reasonably well and allowed us to keep clear of a fishing competition on the Surrey bank.
Richard Harris was victorious but was chased by Barry on the water and by David Baker in his Albacore and Ros in her Laser on handicap.
Overall Barry cannot be caught, but the other podium places are still up for grabs with both David and Ros making late runs in an effort to catch and pass Doug currently in second and Ken Duffell in third.
Come and join the last Thursday evening race of the year and see if we can beat 18 boats on the water.’
