Tamesis Merlin at Hampton Wick Fair

Matthew Peregrine-Jones very kindly lent his boat and his dad, and Dana very kindly towed the boat up to the Fair and back again, and even more kindly stayed to help out. Steve and Sue Katz provided teas and coffees, smiles and boat moving. Kaan organised everybody, having completed the cycle race (shortened by 14 miles), and arrived just in time to wheel the boat in the parade helped by Dana, Steve and Stewart. The stars of the show were the two daughters of Sue’s friend, who sat in the boat, smiled and waved throughout the parade. Stewart organised the bunting, the Club flag and the information board. Everyone talked to passers by to encourage them to come to the Club. Everyone disappeared into the pub as soon as the rain descended from a very ominous cloud. (Report by Carolyne Vines, Tamesis Vice Commodore).
