Wayfarer

The Wayfarer

Tamesis Club owns its own brand new Training Wayfarer Midnight which is available for use by members to sail in club races, or to practice sailing from the club, and more importantly to introduce new and prospective members to sailing and how to sail dinghies.  She is fully fitted with a furling jib and even a spinnaker, though newcomers don’t have to use the spinnaker and the rest of the boat is really straightforward.

If you’ve never sailed before this is an ideal boat to learn in or to try out sailing – she’s purpose built by Hartley Boats for training, she’s very stable and is certified by the CE to carry 6 people – though we recommend 2-4 adults in the boat to make her less crowded!

Non-members are very welcome to come for a trial sail or two, at absolutely no charge or obligation – we can usually arrange a sail on a day of the week to suit you, though our normal racing day is Sunday, when you could watch the racing in the morning and sail with us in Midnight in the afternoon.  Unlike other clubs, we sail throughout the year, so you can come to the club at any time.  We will lend you sailing gear if you don’t have any.  We look forward to hearing from you – please get in touch through the form below.

Members may book Midnight for a sail (no charge) through the same form.
