Charity Bridge Drive 9th November

For the past fourteen or fifteen years the Tamesis Bridge Group has held, twice a year, a Charity Bridge Drive. Often these have been for either our chosen charity, the “Shooting Star”, or the Club.

For the past four years we have held our November Drive in aid of “Help For Heroes” – once or twice actually on the 11th November.

The most recent one had 14 tables and raised just over a thousand pounds which, after expenses (prizes, etc.) realised £870. Some £350 of that came from the raffle – we sold £80 worth of tickets to club members prior to the event.

A very nice tea was provided for all participants and it should be noted that all the food for the tea and all the raffle prizes were donated by the Bridge Group. So, a big thank you to all raffle ticket buyers, sandwich and cake makers and prize donors.

  1. The Club was really humming for the Bridge afternoon,. with the buzz of activity, or the brainwaves of deep concentration at the appropriate times. Congratulations to the Bridge Group for a splendid result for ‘Help for Heroes’
