Easter Egg Pursuit Race blown off

Easter storm 16

The weather forecast for this event caused some anxiety – strong wind, rain plus sunny intervals – the last bit was alright.

In the event three Lasers, one Merlin, one Wayfarer, and two Toppers rigged, and most got on the water before the wind really blew up.  In the end the clouds produced hail and very heavy gusts sending boats over or on to the Surrey bank.  The race was abandoned.

Race Officer Carolyne Vines was assisted by John Dunkley, Jim Green, Peter Simpson and Daniel Gerber.

Nevertheless, the clubhouse was crowded afterwards for lunch which was produced by Ana and Jo.

Chocolates and Easter Eggs were awarded to all the competitors.
