Rainy Push the Boat Out Day a Great Success

Saturday 12th May started gloomy, it rained but we all had a great time.  Please look at the following link to see Kathrin Gerber’s video –  https://youtu.be/0yO2rDVZtLw

Over seventy visitors came, and well over fifty got out in a boat.  The wind was fickle, and a lot of paddling went on, including on the paddle boards that members brought with them. Everyone got wet but no one cared.  Several application forms were filled out, with other visitors thinking about it.

Our visitors were asked to register, given a sticker, introduced to the Beach masters who matched them up with a helm and boat.  Everyone enjoyed the great bbq, and the bar did a good trade.

I would like to thank everyone who helped today, in whatever capacity, and also the RYA for their sponsorship and the free materials.

I couldn’t possibly name everyone, but all did a fantastic job. There were the leaflet deliverers, those who put posters up, sent mailings to schools and colleges, put banners up, cleaned down the hard and outside furniture, took videos and stills, registered visitors, beachmasters, helms who took visitors for a sail (or drift) patrol boat drivers, stand up paddleboard owners who lent their boards, the bbq chefs, salad chefs, food servers, bar and kitchen staff and so on.
