It is with great sadness that I have to report the death of Robin Redhead, past member of Tamesis.
In his time with the club he was part of the very enthusiastic Illusion fleet, part owner of Sigma 33 Harmony. When he stopped sailing Illusions he sailed model yachts on the Round Pond in Kensington Gardens.
Robin and Sally sailing their Halcyon 27 Elysion won Jack’s Trip sometime in the 90s
Robin built an Optimist in the very early days of Optimists at the club, together with a frame for doing sailing instruction land drills.
One of nature’s gentlemen, he is sorely missed by family and friends.
The details of the funeral are detailed in the following e mail from the family:

The family have set up an alternative website to give people who would like to give a donation in memory of Robin a choice.
Tideway Sailability is a unique sailing club in central London where people with or without a disability all sail together as one community. It is a charity run by volunteers, combining Robin’s love of sailing with his life’s work helping people with disabilities. Their website is
Follow the link below if you would like to donate.
After the ceremony please come with us to Tamesis Club in Teddington, where Robin sailed dinghies for many years.
It would be helpful if you could let us know if you are coming, so that the caterer can have some idea of numbers. We realise that August is a busy time in the school holidays and that many people may be away.
Please forward this to anyone that we may have forgotten.
With our love to you all,
Sally, Lucy, Alice and Guy.
