Tamesis Club

Tammy Matters correction

Dear all

Thanks to those who read this on issue this morning – in fact our sailors are going to Salcombe next week, not Fowey. Apologies for any confusion.

I am writing this after a quiet weekend – no racing because of the Cycle 100 races.  The training was cancelled due to the forecast rain and strong wind. We have a race on Thursday evening to look forward to.  Thanks to John Adams for his excellent reports and to Nicky Johnson for arranging the tasty catering.

Last Thursday evening saw 25 people enjoy a tasty supper.  This week the menu is Smoked Salmon Macaroni Cheese with side salad, and strawberries and cream £10 per person.   Please sign up in the Club or let Nicky Johnson know on nickyjohnsontamesis@gmail.com by Thursday morning latest.  The weather is looking fair so come down to the Club and enjoy a relaxing evening with others!

The instruction team will be holding their annual rally up to Hampton Court – the Albany pub, where great fun is had by all.  Please see the event page for more information.

Three of our young Laser sailors and two adult Laser sailors will be competing in the Fowey Regatta next week. Ben Ramage, Constantin Gerber and Harry Harris will all be sailing Laser Radials (for lighter weights a smaller sail) and Jodok Gerber and Marcus Chavasse will be sailing Standard rigs.  Good luck guys.  I think there may be other Tamesis members racing in other classes.

A reminder to those who would like to go on the rally in Chichester Harbour on Saturday 22nd September, either on a boat, or just to attend the meal at Itchenor Sailing Club.  It promises to be a great event.  A sail along beautiful Chichester Harbour followed by an excellent meal.  Please e mail Daniel Gerber on daniel@thegerbers.ch.

Look forward to seeing you all soon.
