I am writing this after we have had another very busy weekend. Two open meetings – National 18s and Laser, a fun supper on Saturday night, and of course more students learning sailing skills. Please see all the reports. Our merlin sailors also went down to the Parkstone Silver Tiller event.
Next weekend is another busy one – PLEASE NOTE THERE IS NO CLASS RACING THIS WEEKEND.
Saturday 6th – Porteous Cup part of the Vintage de May series – we also need a volunteer for Patrol Boat Crew.
Sunday 7th – Sondown Cup – Merlin Open, also part of the Thames Series and significantly a Silver Tiller event. We need volunteers for Patrol Boat Driver and Crew.
Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th – A Raters weekend. Worth coming down to watch these magnificent boats in action.
Sunday 14th – Winter series 1 but there will be no 1030 handicap race.
Monday 15th – The RNLI are holding their annual Fish Supper at the Anglers pub, 3 Broom Road. For details see the poster on the website.
Saturday 20th – Ladies Night. A fun night where we ladies are fed and entertained by the gents. £20 per person and please sign-up in the clubhouse or Email Nicky Johnson on firstname.lastname@example.org”
Sunday 21st – Trafalgar Trophy – Handicap Pursuit Race – start times to be published soon.
Sunday 28th – RNLI day – winners of class races receive a racing flag. All competitors are asked to donate £5 to the RNLI. The ladies from the RNLI will be selling their lovely Christmas Cards and goodies to start your Christmas shop.
Sunday 28th – we will be hosting the Three Club Burgee team races in the afternoon. To be sailed in vintage merlins.
