Sadly we have to report the death of Eileen Newman early on Christmas morning. Eileen celebrated her 98th birthday in November in fine style with a gathering of family and friends at Fullerton Court in Teddington where she has been living for several years. We think she was Tamesis’ oldest member. Eileen slipped away peacefully with family present in West Middlesex Hospital where she had been for a few days.
Eileen was a keen supporter of, and one of the founder members of the Tamesis Bridge Club, and enjoyed a very long association with the the National 18′ Class with her late husband Derek. She leaves three children five grandchildren, one of whom Emilie is a keen Laser sailor, and to her joy in 2018 two great grandsons.
Eileen’s funeral will be at 2.30pm in St Peter’s Church, Church Lane, Petersham, Richmond upon Thames on Friday 25th January. The wake will be held at Pembroke Lodge in Richmond Park. Family flowers only. Donations to charity, details of which will be advised soon.
The family are anxious for friends to go to the funeral and wake, but would appreciate it if everyone could e mail Angie on email@example.com
