Brian Southcott’s funeral last Friday was a truly memorable event, and we all learnt more about the amazing man we had had in our midst all these years! There is more on the Brian Southcott in Memoriam post which will follow.
The AGM is coming up on the 24th February at 2pm. The papers will have been sent to you shortly via e mail with an attachment. Please could you read the reports, and put the AGM in your diaries. Please could you check your spam boxes if you don’t see it in by the end of the week. If you can’t make it, please send your apologies to Rupert Fletcher on firstname.lastname@example.org . I look forward to seeing you there. If you wish to place a proxy vote, please use the form at the end of the papers.
The Thames River Boat Project have now moved into the office, and are settling in nicely. They will be there during the week, so if you are at the club during the week you will see them beavering away.
Thursday 7th February – Club supper and talk. All are welcome to this event. The two course meal is £10pp. Please book with Nicky Johnson on email@example.com if you haven’t done so already. The talk is about the LILIAN – gentleman’s motor yacht built in 1916, and will be given by Dr Scott and Mrs Hilary Pereira. It has had excellent reviews.
Saturday 16th February – Vice Commodore’s Dinner – the fun dinner of the year. The Uffa Spoon will be presented to the person or persons considered to have committed the greatest folly in the year since the last dinner. Said person or persons will not be revealed until the night, but they are always worthy of the honour! The speeches are humorous. The presentation is preceded by the dinner which will be very tasty. There will also be a welcoming glass of fizz. The sign up sheet is in the clubhouse, or you can book with Nicky Johnson on firstname.lastname@example.org. Our Vice Commodore Chris Pollard will be delighted to welcome you all.
See you soon
