


Ice greeted many of the sailors as they rigged their boats. However, the sun shone and the breeze came up enough to ensure a very pleasant sail.
Stewart Colley steamed away from the rest of the Laser fleet to obtain an uncatchable lead. Richard Harris was over the line at the start but caught the rest of the fleet at the second dog leg mark, and was never caught. There was plenty of place changing further down both fleets.
