Due to technical hitches Chris Pollard our new Commodore was unable to write Tammy Matters this week.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their support during my term as Commodore. It was a privilege and a pleasure. I am confident that I am leaving you in Chris’ capable hands, though I won’t be going far, as I am now Vice Commodore.
The following is from Chris who was also OOD on Sunday
Sunday racing, in glorious sunshine, started with what was forecast as a Southerly blowing fitfully from the North-east. So fitfully that by the time the 10.30 Handicap fleet leaders got to the Canbury mark they rounded it the wrong way. Just before the time the main races started, the wind settled nearer to southerly, resulting in the start being in the opposite direction to the earlier race, but it remained very variable and fitful – Peter and Richard Mason in their Merlin Bambusa and Matt Jones in his Laser INXS-ive coped best.
The AGM, which followed after lunch, went smoothly with the Commodoreship passing from Carolyne Vines to Chris Pollard. There were various presentations included – please see the report.
