Summer Series 2. A combination of a good but gusty breeze and sunshine gave some good racing. Again there was a reasonable turnout of Merlins, fewer Lasers and three 18s accompanied by the RS400.
Peter Simpson’s Funeral. Peter’s funeral on Tuesday 9th April was well attended and there were reminiscences of his times at Tamesis by David Baker and Jim Green and of his time with the Kempton Great Engines by a member of that group. Afterwards his family hosted refreshments at Tamesis.
The Topper Open. A good entry of 15 Boats, sadly none from Tamesis, contested the Murray Vines Cup in variable winds during a chilly but brightening day. See the fuller report by Carolyne and pictures by Andy Harris on the website.
Laser Quiz. This was well attended, with six good sized teams competing. The question setting and organisation of the evening resulted in a most enjoyable event, enhanced by a good dinner. See the fuller report by Carolyne on the website.
Easter Sunday, 21st April. Next Sunday we hold the Easter Egg Challenge which will be a Pursuit race with the first start at 11.00 am. See the post by Tim Medcalf and view the various class start times on the website
