It is with great sorrow we have to report that Eddy Simmonds who collapsed while visiting the Club on Sunday 3rd October, died peacefully on Monday 15th November. He had been undergoing tests in Kingston Hospital over the intervening weeks.
Eddy was a long-time member and remained a regular at the club after retiring from the National 18 Class sharing Genevieve with long time friend Graeme Lythe.
He will be remembered with great affection by his friends – his ready smile and huge enthusiasm for life, and his desire to be thoroughly involved and helping out.
Eddy made an enormous contribution to the club over the many years he was a member. He was Assistant Treasurer for several years, Harbour Master, National 18′ Captain and served on the Management and House Committees.
Eddy’s funeral will be at 1:15 pm on Wednesday 8th December at Randalls Park Crematorium, Randalls Rd, Leatherhead KT22 0AG. You are warmly invited to join the family at the service and also at Tamesis afterwards. If you are planning to go to the Crematorium, they have asked that everyone wears a mask.
