Busy Junior Shakedown Session Saturday 18th April
Junior Sailing - Juniors and parents met for a well-attended 'shakedown' session, welcoming 22 children and families on Saturday that was presented by Joe McLaughlin and the team. The afternoon included lawn games, rigging session, safe landing/recovery practice and a fun relay race with the challenge of retrieving yellow ducks from the water, surprisingly good skills were on show after the winter. Supper and Talk Thursday 16th April
Last Thursday Andrew Hill-Smith gave a fascinating talk relating stories of his summer sailing around Britain anticlockwise in his Laser. Having done no prior sea sailing, he broke his daggerboard on the first beach landing. We now all know what the fender is for on the bow of his Laser. Easter Eggs at Tamesis on Easter Sunday
Easter Egg Pursuit Race - reporting from Peter Bide On Easter Sunday the fleet preparing for the Easter Egg Pursuit Race was faced with a strong westerly wind with challenging gusts of over 30mph, swinging from southwest to northwest. Tamesis Enterprise Open 2026
The crews of ten Enterprises, two from Tamesis, two from London Corinthian, two from Twickenham, two from Minima and two from Lensbury enjoyed bacon sandwiches while preparing for Tamesis' Enterprise Open Meeting. Supper and Talk Thursday 5rh March
Chris Pollard delivered an absolutely fascinating talk about his experiences in Air Accident Investigation. About 46 people sat down for supper and another half dozen or so turned up for the talk itself. With audience questions and interest in a specific case, Chris didn't actually finish until 10pm. Sixty plus people attended the Supper and Talk on Thursday 5th February. We were delighted to welcome guests from several local clubs, the RNLI, other local communties and friends of members.
