2nd GW Smith Trophy Race, Thursday July 11th
Image by Carolyne Vines The wind in the afternoon did not bode well for the evening race, very light, occasionally not there at all and fluctuating between south, west and north. However by the time the OOD, David Baker, and his team had arrived it had settled down to a NNW but still variable and light, leading David to set a course to Lensbury and then to Canbury. Despite the

8th Saga Trophy Race, Thursday 20th June
This was another evening where just enough of a wind filled in to hold the race. Its direction was extremely variable and with a few dead patches amongst the puffs, but the sun shone, and it felt like a summer evening for a change. Perhaps it was the weather, perhaps the need to consolidate positions in the series, but there was a good turnout of 15 boats. The ILCA7s made up the bulk of

These were a Merlin, 2 Solos and an ILCA7. For a change the wind was from the southwest enabling a beat up stream and a run downstream. While it was a damp evening with sporadic rain drops,

Amongst the single handers were 7 ILCA7s, 3 Solos and a Topper helmed by Arthur P-J. As seems to have been the norm for some time the wind was a north westerly and the

4th Saga Trophy Race, Thursday 23rd May 2024
This was good evening, with wind, a WNW, blowing the whole evening, albeit flukey in strength and direction. Eleven boats came to the starting line, the largest class being 5 ILCA7s, 2 Merlins and N18s, a Solo helmed by Tim Medcalf and a Topper helmed by Matt P-J's son, Arthur. With a reasonably strong stream, the downstream start needed to be carefully managed. Matt P-J in his ILCA7 did so and was the early
