New Recall procedures [Effective 19th November 2022]

We are now using for all club racing the race recall procedures specified in the Racing Rules of Sailing 2021-2024.

Individual recall

One additional hoot is sounded and Code Flag X displayed.

General recall

Two additional hoots are sounded and Code Flag First Substitute is displayed.

The warning signal for a new start for the recalled class shall be made one minute after the First Substitute is removed (one sound), and the starts for any succeeding classes shall follow the new start.

Explanation

This change has been discussed by the Sailing Committee and is required to prevent confusion when we are running Traveller Series events (open meetings) interwoven with club racing.

This notice replaces hoisting the class flag at the dip for an individual recall and sending a recalled class start to the end of the starting sequence for a recalled class.
