Social Sailing

If you've ever thought about sailing on the River Thames but weren't sure how to get started, Social Sailing at Tamesis is the perfect introduction. Whether you're a complete beginner or an experienced sailor, you'll be warmly welcomed.

Social Sailing takes place on various Sunday afternoons throughout the summer, from 2pm to 4pm see the Club Calendar for dates. Visitors are always welcome, and we offer free taster sails so you can come along and give it a try. Just contact us to book your place.

Each session begins by deciding who will sail in which boat. Experienced sailors are always on hand to help you rig, launch, and get out on the water. If you're new to sailing, you can sail alongside an experienced member in one of the club's spacious and stable boats.

The emphasis is on enjoying time on the water, building skills, and gaining confidence in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Lunch is available in the clubhouse beforehand, and the bar is often open afterwards making Social Sailing every bit as social as it sounds.

Once you've had a taste of sailing with us, you may wish to continue with RYA introductory training to help you become confident and self-sufficient at the helm. Throughout your journey, Social Sailing will continue to support you, helping you develop your skills while having fun along the way.
