Time Trial - Speed records

We are establishing some records to allow members to show their prowess, skill and commitment.

Any ideas about how to take this leaderboard forward, please contact RCS@tamesisclub.co.uk or any Class Captain.

The inaugural time trial attempts were by Ilker Sener on 25th October 2026, in blustery and windy NW conditions.

With the rules of the game currently unratified the parameters so far are:

Tamesis Club uses two start lines. The timed zone is the area between the lines.

1. Cross from outside the zone using either start line to start a timer.

2. Sail over the timed zone to exit by fully crossing the other line.

3. Turn around and head back to the first line.

4. Timer stops when you cross the line used to enter the timed zone.

Record set - 25-Oct-26 in an ILCA 7 - 1 min 09:19 seconds, downstream start.

Could a Merlin do better?
