At the Winter and Summer Prizegivings, the number of prizes in a club series is determined under the Sailing Instructions.

Workings and Evidence
- The Calculation Rule: The Standard Sailing Instructions (SI 19.1) explicitly state that for Club aggregate series, the number of prizes is the square root of the qualifying helms, "rounded up to the next whole number".
Rounding Logic: Because the instruction is to round up, any fractional result (such as 2.449 for 6 helms) immediately moves to the next whole number (3). If the square root is a perfect whole number (such as 2.000 for 4 helms), it remains at that whole number.
