Sunday 7th January

The day dawned with a bright blue sky and welcome sight of the sun. However, the effects of Storm Henk were still apparent, and sailing impossible due to the strength of the current. Overnight at Kingston Bridge it was measured at over 400 metres per second. The hard was flooded and pontoons invisible.
Racing was cancelled but the club still opened for a drink and lunch. Several members gathered to wish one another a Happy New Year, and look forward to sailing in the coming weeks.
Thanks to David PJ who volunteered to take over as OOD and came down and put all the necessary flags up. Thanks also to the staff in the bar and kitchen.
