Topper Super South Regatta on 17-18th October 2026

Three of our "Tammy Seals" Race Team travelled down to Poole Yacht Club over the weekend of 17-18th October for the Allen Super South Topper series.

71 sailors and their families from across the three southern Topper regions (London & Southeast, Southern and Southwest) enjoyed a fantastic weekend of racing, sunshine and a cool Northerly breeze of 15-25 knots.

On the Saturday there were 3 long races. What looked quite benign conditions from the clubhouse veranda as the sailors sailed out of the marina, by the time they got to the start area right across the harbour near Brownsea Island was very windy and wavy indeed. And when the sailors had finished there was just as long a beat upwind to get back home. Really exhausting stuff. On the Sunday just 1 race was held due to the increasingly windy conditions and multiple capsizes and mast mud-sticking incidents meant the Principal Race Officer took the very sensible decision to finish racing early, much to the relief of most of the sailors.

It's also nice very nice to report that our three most advanced Tammy Seals (Flora, Toby and Arthur) have now been selected for the London & Southeast Regional Performance Squad. Well done them! They've now got to kit themselves up for 5x intensive weekends of race coaching through the winter months.

More racing on the local and national Topper circuit in the coming weeks too!
