The sun shone (a lot of the time), the flag pole was dressed overall, the bacon rolls were rolling out of the kitchen for competitors what a great start to a glorious day. Visitors arrived from Minima YC and Twickenham YC, the course was laid, the briefing done, and we were off!
The following are a selection of the photos taken by Chris Wade during the first of three races. The club was buzzing many regular and not so regular sailors, and loads of spectators. Loads of families on and off the water.
More photos from Chris Wade on the Tamesis Club Facebook page.
OOD Chris Pollard set an upstream loop course for the first two races, both buoys in sight of the club. The wind came and went, starting from the south and then wended way round to the north ish for the last race which was started downstream. Sometimes it blew, sometimes it didn't. There was some very close racing. The winners in all three fleets were obvious from very early on.

and Ed Mayley and James Budden from Minima YC who romped away to win the Handicap Fleet. Photo: Nicky Chavasse
Charles Fox and Robert Blakebrough in Genevieve represented the National 18 fleet.
Thanks to the plethora of helpers Chris Pollard as OOD who was assisted at various times by Peter Johnson, Peter and Pauline Fryer, Carolyne Vines. The Patrol Boats were run by Florian Krueger, Sara Altun, William Scaldwell, Garrie Mallen, Emily and Toby Powell Blyth. Jonathan Key who took the entries. Chris Wade who took the all important photos and did the all important sweeping of the hard.
The bar and kitchen were run by Charlotte, Sabina, Greta, Alfie and Clara. They were very proud to report they had produced 80 sandwiches and bacon rolls for hungry sailors and spectators.
