Late Autumn Sailing at Tamesis

Several weeks of heavy rain had a big impact on the amount of water flowing down the river, which meant that racing had to be cancelled throughout Novermber, and the first Sunday in December which was very disappointing, and hasn't happened for several years.
The club was always open for drinks at the bar, and either a hot lunch or sandwich and maybe soup. The clubroom was crowded, and the atmosphere jolly.
The conditions on 10th December, were similar to previous weeks. The Blue Races were cancelled, and it was hoped it would be possible to run the White races, but these were abandoned as well. This would have been the day of the Christmas Pudding races. They were postponed to the following week in the hope the stream would have slowed down, and there was enough wind.
Christmas Festivities went ahead with a swing - see separate report.
